Port Royal Plantation: Historic Hilton Head

Located where Port Royal Sound meets the Atlantic Ocean, this completely private oceanfront community is a favorite among those looking to purchase villas or condos for the short term rental market. Although villas outnumber home sites by over 2:1, Port Royal Plantation contains some of the most magnificent oceanfront homes on Hilton Head Island.

Over the years this region of Hilton Head has held significant historical importance. Back in 1663 it was the first point of land sighted by Captain William Hilton when he discovered the island, and in 1861 it was the landing point for Union troops during the Civil War.

Facilities

Tennis - The Port Royal Racquet Club features 16 courts and offers all three Grand Slam surfaces (grass, clay, and hard court). Four courts are private and eight are lighted. Tennis clinics are available.

Swimming - Resident's club. Olympic size pool and wading pool.

Beach - 4 miles of beaches.

Hotel - The Westin Resort.

Access - Controlled - passes available to resort guests. Residential areas are private.

Club Information - Tennis, Golf, Social, and Sports memberships available.

The Golf Courses at Port Royal Plantation

The Port Royal Golf Club features three, 18-hole Golf Courses: Barony, Planter’s Row and Robber’s Row. On a rotating basis, one of the three remains private.
